A headline gig at RoystonLive (formerly Royston Folk Club), at the invitation of Chris Wall, in their new venue, was something we had been looking forward to, as it had been quite a while since we had last played to the club. A good soundcheck and chat with the other performers, including Steve Warner, commenced the evening, however, the fact that England were playing World Cup 2022 football on the same night proved to be too much of a draw for many of the regulars at the club, and the audience was a bit thin on the ground. We played a good set, but it is disappointing, after all the practice, to be playing to an audience which is nearly outnumbered by the performers. Ah well, such is the joy of live music!
